What is meant by 'measuring religion with one's intellect' that you expressed is judging revelation and Sunnah according to human caprice, limited, and egoistic desires. Ahl al-Sunnah scholars, including the founder of the Hanafi school, Imam Azam Abu Hanifa (may Allah have mercy on him), state that the intellect is an evidence (hujjah) in religion, but its boundaries must be drawn by revelation. The intellect exists to understand and comprehend the transmitted texts, not to criticize or reject them. Indeed, in the Holy Quran, Almighty Allah commands, 'Do you not then use your reason?' (Al-Baqarah, 44), thus demanding the correct use of the intellect, but this usage must be under the guidance of revelation. As for the saying 'Believe like an old woman in the End Times'; the wording of this statement is not an original noble hadith. However, it is an aphorism used among the people by scholars to draw attention to the virtue of 'taqlid-i iman,' meaning belief with pure and unadulterated submission handed down from ancestors, without questioning. Due to the abundance of tribulations (fitnah) in the End Times, against philosophical and denialist currents that approach everything with suspicion, the heartfelt purity of the common people (avam) in affirming without falling into obstinacy and doubt has been praised. As for the authenticity of the hadiths (whether they are sahih); the accuracy of the words belonging to the Prophet (PBUH) is determined not by 'old woman belief,' but by the science of 'Usul al-Hadith' (Hadith Methodology), which Islamic scholars have meticulously formed over centuries. Great hadith imams such as Al-Bukhari and Muslim have passed the narrators and texts of the narrations through very strict criteria to distinguish the authentic ones. Therefore, hadiths whose authenticity has been proven by scientific criteria, rather than emotional or hearsay belief, are our crown jewels. A Muslim is one who uses their intellect to understand revelation, evaluates hadiths according to methodology, and is attached to Allah with complete submission.
