🔬 इस्लामी नमाज़ व खगोलीय गणना मानक - Diyanet & Astronomical Standards

नमाज़ के औक़ात Calculation Methodology

The prayer times presented on our platform are calculated with millisecond accuracy based on the resolutions of the Presidency of Religious Affairs (Diyanet) Supreme Board, modern astronomical ephemeris algorithms, and geodesic coordinates.

1. 1. Astronomical & Juristic (Fiqh) Criteria

In Islamic jurisprudence, prayer times are linked to the observable solar position relative to the local horizon. The Quran states: 'Establish prayer at the two ends of the day and at the approach of the night...' (Hud, 11:114) and 'Establish prayer at the decline of the sun until the darkness of the night...' (Al-Isra, 17:78).

Fajr / Imsak (True Dawn)h = -18°

The moment the sun's center reaches 18 degrees below the eastern horizon and twilight spreads horizontally (Al-Fajr As-Sadiq). Diyanet and the majority of Islamic bodies adopt the 18° solar depression angle as the beginning of the fasting period.

Sunrise (Shuruq)h = -50'

The moment the upper limb of the sun appears on the horizon. Atmospheric refraction (~34 arcminutes) and the sun's semidiameter (~16 arcminutes) yield an apparent altitude of -50 arcminutes.

Dhuhr (Midday / Post-Zawal)Transit + Temkin

Begins when the sun passes the meridian (zenith transit) and starts declining eastward. A precautionary margin (3 to 5 minutes) is included in accordance with Islamic tradition.

Asr (Afternoon)Gölge = Asıl + Boy

Starts when the shadow of an object equals its own length plus its shadow at midday (Asr al-Awwal). This is the standard endorsed by Imam Abu Yusuf, Imam Muhammad, Imam Shafi'i, Imam Malik, and Imam Ahmad.

Maghrib (Sunset / Iftar)h = -50'

The moment the sun's disc completely disappears below the western horizon (-50 arcminutes), incorporating atmospheric refraction. Marks the conclusion of the daily fast.

Isha (Nightfall)h = -17°

The complete disappearance of the evening twilight (ash-shafaq) when the sun reaches 17° below the western horizon, initiating the Isha and Taraweeh prayer windows.

2. 2. Karahah (Prohibited Prayer Times) Rules

Narrated in the Sahih Hadith via Uqbah ibn Amir (may Allah be pleased with him):

"'The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) forbade us from praying or burying our dead during three times: when the sun begins to rise until it is fully risen, when the sun is at its zenith at midday until it passes, and when the sun inclines to set until it sets.'"— Sahih Muslim, 831; Sunan Abi Dawud, 3192; Jami` at-Tirmidhi, 1030

The 3 Karahah (Disliked / Prohibited) Intervals:

  • 1. Morning Karahah: From Sunrise for approximately 45 to 50 minutes until the sun ascends 5 degrees (the height of a spear) above the horizon.
  • 2. Midday (Istiwā) Karahah: When the sun is at its highest celestial peak, 40 to 45 minutes prior to the Dhuhr Adhan until the Adhan is called.
  • 3. Sunset (Isfirār) Karahah: The last 45 minutes before Maghrib when the sun yellows and loses its radiance. Only the obligatory Asr of the current day may be performed if delayed.

3. 3. Geodesic Qibla Direction & Magnetic Declination

The Qibla direction is the Great Circle bearing from the observer's geographic position toward the Holy Kaaba in Mecca (21.4225° N, 39.8262° E). The spherical trigonometric formula is applied as follows:

q = atan2( sin(Δλ), cos(φ1)*tan(φ2) - sin(φ1)*cos(Δλ) )

Where φ1 is user latitude, φ2 is Kaaba latitude (21.4225°), and Δλ is the longitude delta (39.8262° - λ1).

Our live compass utilizes the World Magnetic Model (WMM) to automatically calibrate magnetic declination between True North and Magnetic North for utmost pointing precision.
